Update - during 2015 we are proud to say that we rehomed 27 dogs and helped with several more by organising their preparation fees, travel from Romania or transport once in the UK. We are, as always, very grateful to all the people who have helped us and/or adopted one of our dogs - on behalf of the dogs ..... THANK YOU

In November 2013, Ginger, a pretty Spitz type from Petrosani public shelter, joined the resident Bearded Collies at Liz's home in Yorkshire, and fundraising started in earnest. Ginger proved to be a great ambassador for the Romanian dogs, and in the following months Cally from Petrosani and Sophie from Valcea came to join her at Liz's.Through the power of social media, Liz and Colleen, already friends of many years standing through their mutual passion for Bearded Collies, both found themselves drawn to the plight of dogs in Romania. As image after image of dogs suffering in the barbaric public shelters flashed across their screens, they resolved to try to do something about it.

During this period strong friendships were being formed with like minded ladies in Romania who were at the forefront of attending to the needs of the starving, sick and abused dogs and puppies in these shelters.

By the end of 2014 Liz had fostered and re-homed several remarkable dogs who had all made the long journey from Romania and all had their own sad stories to tell.

In November 2014, after meeting several of the 'Rommies' at Liz's, Colleen offered foster to a small joyful bundle of fluff called Emma, and has since fostered a series of delightful dogs, two of which have taken up permanent residence with her Beardie clan.

2015 saw Liz and Colleen joining forces with Lisa, another friend from the dog shows with a passion for Romanian rescue. Lisa and her beautiful Pyreneans offer a friendly welcome to any dog in need.

All three fully support, respect and are inspired by the dedication of the rescues in Romania, and have resolved to continue to help them.

One of the best ways they can help is to foster and find caring permanent homes for the dogs and this is where they need your support …………………
